separator=&#8221;yes&#8221; separator_color=&#8221;yes&#8221; uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;154360&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h2>Legal Regulations in Turkey<\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_empty_space empty_h=&#8221;1&#8243;][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;143274&#8243;]It is necessary to determine the <strong><u>adverse\/harmful<\/u><\/strong> effects of chemicals on the <strong>health and safety<\/strong> of workers in workplaces and to carry out studies that will reduce or eliminate these effects.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mevzuat.gov.tr\/mevzuatmetin\/1.5.6331.pdf\">&#8220;<u>Occupational Health and Safety Law,<\/u>&#8220;<\/a> the employer is obliged to carry out a <strong>risk assessment<\/strong> for the workplace or workplaces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mevzuat.gov.tr\/File\/GeneratePdf?mevzuatNo=16925&amp;mevzuatTur=KurumVeKurulusYonetmeligi&amp;mevzuatTertip=5\"><u>The &#8220;Occupational Health and Safety Risk Assessment Regulation&#8221;<\/u><\/a> <strong>specifies that during risk assessment studies, the risks identified based on the information and data collected should be analyzed by using one or more of the methods selected based on the characteristics of the<\/strong> <em>company&#8217;s activities, the nature of the hazards or risks at the workplace, and the constraints of the workplace, or national or international standards<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The employer is obligated to conduct a special risk assessment for working with chemicals<\/strong> in accordance with the provisions of <em>the aforementioned laws and regulations<\/em> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mevzuat.gov.tr\/File\/GeneratePdf?mevzuatNo=18709&amp;mevzuatTur=KurumVeKurulusYonetmeligi&amp;mevzuatTertip=5\"><u>&#8220;Regulation on Health and Safety Measures for Working with Chemicals.&#8221;<\/u><\/a> The following aspects are particularly considered <u>in the <strong>risk assessment<\/strong> for working with <em>chemicals<\/em>:<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>a) Hazards and risks to health and safety posed by the chemical substance.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>b) Material safety data sheets obtained from manufacturers, importers, or suppliers in Turkish.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>c) The type, level, and duration of exposure.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>d) The quantity of the chemical substance, usage conditions, and frequency of use.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>e) Occupational exposure limit values and biological limit values given in the annexes of the Regulation on Health and Safety Measures for Working with Chemicals.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>f) The effectiveness of preventive measures taken or to be taken.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>g) Results of previous health surveillance.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>h) In tasks involving more than one chemical substance, each of these substances and their interactions with each other.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space empty_h=&#8221;2&#8243;][vc_custom_heading text_weight=&#8221;600&#8243; To assist small and medium-sized enterprises in complying with this regulation, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has developed a <strong><u>risk assessment tool called COSHH<\/u><\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hse.gov.uk\/toolbox\/harmful\/coshh.htm\">COSHH is a qualitative method that assesses and manages chemical exposure risks based on the toxicological hazard classification of chemicals and exposure assessment.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Risk control measures in the COSHH method are based on the principles<\/u><\/strong> of the control hierarchy. In addition to engineering controls such as local or general ventilation, administrative controls such as training and safe work procedures also play a significant role in the COSHH method. From this screen, you can access all other features of the program, including the <em>Compatibility Table<\/em> and <em>Hazard Report<\/em> for any mixture you create, along with reference information on the reactive groups used in <strong>CRW<\/strong> and incompatibilities with specific chemicals.<\/p>\n<p>The Compatibility Table shows the predicted hazards of mixing chemicals in an easy-to-use graphical interface. Reactivity predictions are color-coded, and clicking on cells in the table provides more information about specific estimated reactions. General hazard statements for selected chemicals, predicted gas products, and references to literature documents are displayed below the graph. If your facility manufactures a proprietary chemical not found in the <strong>CRW<\/strong> database, you can create your own custom chemical data sheets. Additionally, <strong>CRW<\/strong> includes a reactivity prediction worksheet that you can use to virtually &#8220;<strong>mix<\/strong>&#8221; chemicals to learn about potential hazards that may occur in case of an accident, such as a train derailing. For example, if gas production is predicted in a reaction, <strong>CRW<\/strong> will list potential products along with <em>literature<\/em> citations related to the prediction.<\/p>\n<p>To use the program, you start by selecting the &#8220;New Mixture&#8221; tab for the mixture you will create in the &#8220;Mixture Manager&#8221; section and give your mixture a name.<br \/>\nThen, you enter at least one of the following information for the chemicals in your mixture: <strong>&#8220;Chemical Name \/ CAS No \/ UN No \/ Formula&#8221;<\/strong> and use the &#8220;Search&#8221; button to find them in the program. By clicking on the &#8220;Add to mixture&#8221; button, you can add them to your mixture. You repeat this process for all the chemicals in your mixture. After adding all your chemicals to the mixture, you can view the interactions between the chemicals in your mixture as a report by clicking on the &#8220;Mixture Report&#8221; tab and see the
